Not quite what I was expecting. 50 miles in, had to spend one night In the bathroom and have been hiking on skyline drive because the snow is so deep. Gonna take a few days off in Harrisonburg with uncle Jim and aunt Julia

Found out that as long as I complete the trail within a year it still counts as a thru-hike. Pretty excited about that

Met up with a guy named "Sherpa chief" today who has been hiking since September 23rd also SOBO and another SOBO named "stonewall". We are the first 3 sobos to ever be in West Virginia at the same time in March

Staying in a hostel tonight

Free state hiker hostel. Nicer than most of the motels
